Istanbul Galata Tower
This tower was built approximately in 6th century. It is 62m length and has a great panoramic view of Istanbul.
According to some stories, during 17th century an Ottoman man Hezarfen Ahmed Celebi made for himself human made, artificial wings and jumped out from top of Galata Tower. With the help of the wind he managed to fly to Uskudar neighborhood at the Asian side.
Ottomans used this tower as a fire watch tower and a light house. This tower was opened to the public in 1967.
